Company History

True West was conceived out of the overwhelming popularity of the classic 1940’s Wallace Westward Ho Barbeque Ware China patterns. To quote from one of the original brochures on Barbecue Ware: "Typically Western Rodeo dinnerware is designed by one of America’s outstanding Cowboy artists, Till Goodan. The ware is of the highest quality vitrified china, hotel weight, and due to extreme durability is particularly suited for outdoor barbecue use." The original Wallace vintage patterns were avidly snapped up by collectors at steep prices, creating a demand for a reproduction that could be used everyday.

And so it began again in 1990 by reproducing the Rodeo Pattern first, as faithfully as possible, made in the U.S.A. to insure the quality required. With the generosity and licensing support of Betty Goodan Andrews, Till's daughter, we continued on with Boots & Saddle, Longhorn, and the never-before produced Christmas Pattern which incorporated Goodan’s personal Christmas card art.
